Lines that i applied will create a texture of the shell. Many crosshatching line like straight line, vertical line, horizontal line, wavy line and other character of lines will react to produce texture. Many lines that i applied will produced harmony like rainbow. I used many kind of color like warm and cool colors. In warm colors, i used yellow, red, and orange. In cool colors, i used blue, green, and purple. I used black as structural for my shell. Black color is natural color. When natural color, warm colors and cool colors combined it will produces contrast and it will build a form for my shell. If you want to see the shape element in my painting, you must used your imagination to look to structural of my artwork. You will see square shape for my canvas. And organic shape for my shell structure. The combination of line, texture, shape, and color will produce form and unity in my painting.

After we look the form of my painting, i will tell you how to read my painting content. Firstly, when you look to my painting, you will see shell form with multiple lines color. And you will asked what kind of shell that i paint?. You must look to my painting tittle (Ekpsresi Siput Murex Troscheli = Expression of Murex Troscheli Shell) and compare with my painting image. Then you will know, what kind of shell that i paint. That the first level of interpretation for my painting. You can go to the next stage if you like to thing more about my painting. In level two, you can make your own interpretation. May be positive thinking or negative thinking about my painting content. In positive thinking, you will think about the beauty of Murex Troscheli Shell form. In negative thinking, you will think about the pollution that human made will destroy the environment lives, include shell.

Now i will tell about my thinking or idea. I get idea from my surrounding. I search what i like to choose for my subject matter in my painting. I live in seaside village in Sabah country at Malaysia. I very interested in shell form. It is very amazing creature with unique form. Murex Troscheli shell has thorn fork on its body. Its has very rough texture. My message to all human is to take care of our environment, to lets our children observe what we see now.

This is my painting that exhibited on Sabah Art Gallery Year Exhibition 2007. In this painting, i studied Murex Troscheli shell. I like the shell form, because its has thorn fork on its body. Its has very rough texture.

How to read my painting?. Firstly you must know about Form (Formalistic) and Content in Art and Design. What is Form?. Form is what you look at outside of painting. In painting Form or Formalistic, you can see element of design, principal of design, medium and technique. In element of design there are line, shape, texture, form, color and space. In principal of design there are harmony, variety, balance, proportion, dominant, contra and economy. In Medium there are conventional medium and new medium. In technique there are conventional technique and new technique. Content is what you look inside of the painting.

In Form or Formalistic, I use line to create my image. There are many type of lines that I used to create shell form. There are straight line, curve line, horizontal line, vertical line, fine line and other type of line.
